This is my first blog. Dedicated to you and to the Master of Horror, Edgard Allan Poe. You have different things to see and do. Come in and enjoy!
By the way, making comments counts as a class mark, doing any of the long assignments counts a full mark (like a regular writing assignment). You should do at least one long assignment and one short one. Comments count as short ones.

The Raven

Here you have several things to do with Poe´s poem The Raven.
A. Go to this site: http://www.teachersfirst.com/share/raven/start.html and learn about the literary forms included in The Raven. Find the poem "Annabel Lee" and find the literary forms included there. Compare the two poems. (story line, theme, atmosphere, etc.)

B. Watch the videos of The Raven and answer the following questions:
1. What time of day is it? What time of year?
2. What is the author feeling? Is he alone or with other people?
3. Pick out some of the words that Poe uses to reinforce the feelings of bleakness and hopelessness.
4. What do you think has happened to the narrator of the poem before the night that is the setting for the poem?




C. Watch the Simpson´s version of The Raven /Tell-Tale Heart and compare them mentioning the adaptations.

    I think this video is very good. There is an interpretation of the story at youtube that is really good too. Im going to do my task on this story :).

    Hello Ceci! How are you? I just finished doing the task that you gave us. I really enjoyed doing it because I like a lot the story of The Raven and I saw it in the Simpsons like one hundred times before. Congratulations for the blog, the videos are very good. Bye!!
